Forgot how much I love this album. Rare to listen to a death metal band with lyrics as self-aware of the world as Atheist.

"Living life is just not enough
You must persevere
Please grab hold
Not to things that are bought
But to things that cannot be sold,
Then you'll see
You're released by trial and error
The world's prophecy is to learn"

Hell yes

idk if i can say that a death album has better lyrics (maybe symbolic), but atheist's goal was clear here: Mind-bendy technical science-y metaphysical shit...and even though they took out some of the vocals for the final release (check the demos on spotify!!), I'd say these lyrics match the quality of the album

I think it's nearly impossible for the lyrical content of this album to match the instrumental content but they did a good job for sure

Death's goal was also quite clear on their lyrics, specially on Human (exploring some of the different emotions of the human being). But yeah, not putting down these lyrics in any way.

I bought the CD with the demos but haven't heard em yet :/

Of course! Funny how these lyrics pertain more to the progressive/technical side of death metal. Anata also does the more intelligent side justice.

yeah i didn't mean to say that the instrumentals were equal to vocals cause they are definitely are better and probably the reason we all love this album, I just felt that the vocals didn't dip the quality of the album and were dope in some parts
