Only thing I have to point out with Nick's soundoff is how backwards he is in comparing BTBAM and PTH in terms of self-awareness. Protest is very self-aware, they're the first to admit how bombastic and overblown their music can be and that it's written in such a way that it's both serious and fun.
You bring up an interesting distinction. I liken PTH to Desperate Housewives. DH sold itself as a satirization of a serial soap. This self-awareness was supposed to be the point of differentiation for the show, thus elevating it above the trashy soap operas it lampoons. However, DH isn't very sophistcated in pulling off this dynamic and ultimately fall trap to all of the trashy stereotypes despite themselves. PTH is the same. They try to pretend they are above other metal bands by being bombastic, but their style ultimately feels like a mix between a poor rehashing or a lukewarm satire. They, like DH, fall trap to the same banalities they try to transcend by just claiming they're above them. It's like reading a Doonesbury cartoon on ludes; not the most incisive and sharp brand of self-awareness.

^Dude. That is EXACTLY what I think of this album as far as the "humor" argument goes.

I mean Lamb of God is pretty good though. So is Otep and KSE. All pretty baller bands. I wish Soulfly were still together.

110 Pages! Fuck, this album isn't that good, how the fuck does a band that has this level of fame(which is pretty mediocre) get 110 pages on their reviews.

Because it is the best band ever in the history of metal and maybe even the whole entire world.

What exactly are the amateur mistakes on Kezia?

The thing about the amateur mistakes on Kezia is that they sounded fun and goofy and endearing. I swore to myself that I would never consciously enjoy the less mature incarnation to a band, but in this case, I just find this album to have a lot less flavor to it.
