100% is and definitely has the most lasting appeal, but its also hardly melodeath imo. I honestly have a hard time believing this was the record people in the death metal scene listened to and were like 'yeah lets make it melodic!' I hear more influence from earlier DM albums with segments of out of this world melody, "Like An Ever Flowing Stream" for example.

No album in death metal grew off me harder than this tbh. I still dig it but honestly this is largely about the aesthetic (because at the time I preferred swede death).

No album in death metal has stuck with me more than this. This was honestly my introduction to death metal vocals back in the day.

Always a good jam, whenever I come back to it, it still slays

This album is a great album, but it's pretty overrated also. The songs are all awesome, but it just feels a little too drawn out. Surgical Steel was much better

For me, it's more about production issues, but yeah. Still a great album though

true, it contributes, although I feel like the best cuts here are so much more engaging that the rest, mostly a bit of a top heavy affair in general actually

I used to feel that way until I realized how much all the other tracks rule too.
