all I can say is, and people will disagree with this, is that Spencer outdid himself on this entire record. everything he does is just flawless on every track. I know Matt helps work with him and give him creative advice through recordings so idk if that made a difference on this album or what, but holy shit Spencer went hard on this one

oh yeah, his vocal performance itself is ridiculous here (save silhouette where he sounds fucking hideous but that song is just really not meant for his vocal timbre lmao). i j wish his lows were mixed higher. they sound incredible but the mix buries them all lmao

idk I've seen them live, his studio recordings since P3 have been pretty close to his natural performance live, at least when he's in his prime performance state, I know at the end of tours bands can get burnt out, but I could agree his mix on albums could use some treble to not sounds so damn muddy when he does go low

i dont even really think its an eq thing as much as he seems to throw them in more as a layer of emphasis under his more mid rangey harshes, and it sounds cool but i think having more moments where they stood alone would make them hit w more force. like the MISTAAAKES in wildfire knocks me off my feet every time lmao need more of that
dude is unreal live tho yea caught them in march right around the start of their tour. perfectly hit the coveted ""gay"" note in ragnarok

I had to listen to ragnarok again to figure out what you meant but I'm assuming it's either the "midnight leave" or the "ourselves" at the end lol
he hits those low notes on this album really well like during the "besieged" part in Dracul Gras. it would be nuts if they made a track that he just exclusively did lows on

Silhouette is one of the best things here. He sounds great. I'm okay with "another trigger in mind" on Nobuo, it's just a weird structure for me.
I just wish they leaned more into the emo-pop influence with their melodies at times. Stuff like It's Only Smiles.

silhouette feels like a song made exclusively for people who get filtered out by actual pop music lmao. might also have the worst key change i've heard any band like this do
i didn't hate that song when it came out but good lord lmao. combo of the melody/vocals is oil and water, and that's before the hideous vocal effects in the bridge get tossed on

I could honestly hear them and The Midnight making a duet song in the style of Silhouette and that sounds cool to me idk

Bubs I can see that but it reminds me of Spencer's synthpop project and that project is good. Plus I can use more "emo" sounding vocals on pop songs lol

Hmm this might become my favourite album of theirs...
