Crazy. Maybe it's not as loud as it is on my train but for me it kind of defeats the object of noise cancelling. I can hear the music fine but it doesn't block out all the outside noise which is why I stay away from stuff with ambient/quiet passages because it ruins the immersion.

Before I got these ones it was much worse, couldn't hear a thing at times (rather than just interrupted listening) unless I put the volume up very high & it was a relentless barrage-of-noise type album.

dang, yeah i used to care for that much more aswell, hearing my music without outside interferrence and shit but i got accustomed to it with the headphones i had before these marshall ones. They were very light bose overear with extremely clear sound and fairly limited bass (more for classic & jazz music i presume)

This reminds me... I should get a good pair of over-ears for comfortable home-listening, mine are alright but really they're for travelling because of the noise cancelling. I still have a pair of Bose but they're small-ish on-ear ones that I used to travel with as well.

I've never actually invested in a really good quality pair of over-ears & it's about time considering I listen to basically everything using headphones now.

I love all their albums but this comes in second best for me, with Salvation taking the pedestal.

I would like to say it’s because of Julie Xmas & therefore is a separate entity, the sad truth is I haven’t actually heard it yet. It’s my priority now I’ve heard everything else & let (most of) them sink in (I should probably jam s/t a bit more).
