DHL is ALL about the music, Frank’s vocal performance is underwhelming but he doesn’t even pretend to be the focus of the track. I like it way more than “In My Room” tbh.
|
| |
"ALL about the music"
easily the most simplistic, uninteresting, uncharacteristic beat he's been on before
|
| |
that’s just straight up false.

i like dhl more which is sad bc dhl sucks too
frank what r u doing my man
at least dear april and cayendo sound fire
|
| |
like how can you listen to a song like novocaine and then hear dhl and think "oh, this is acceptable from this artist"
|
| |
I have a feeling Dear April is much older, and has been in Frank’s back pocket for a while.
And those ambient synths in DHL create the vibe that I’m digging. The bass is sick too, especially around the beat change. Also the organ that pops up near the end of the song is a perfect little touch. It’s very atmospheric.

| |
atmospheric, code for THERE IS NOTHING THERE

"I have a feeling Dear April is much older, and has been in Frank’s back pocket for a while."
DHL has been around since 2017 apparently so who knows when he wrote all these
|
| |
I relate to ur feelings tho, it’s MUCH different than his past traditional RnB style. He’s branching out.
|
| |
more like regressing
hes released good rap songs before
|
| |
His vocals blow on both songs I’ll give you that. He’s focused on beats now.
|
| |
focused on beats that any competent producer could conjure up in the matter of minutes yea
|
| |
"His vocals blow on both songs I’ll give you that. He’s focused on beats now."
the beats are not great and neither are the vocals
|
| |
like the melodies on here are non existent. no interesting sounds to be heard. something LARGELY un-Frank like occurring
|
| |
torts have u heard the dear april/cayendo remixes
frank still got it i just have no idea what hes doing with this mid rap singles
|
| |
upon listening, dear april is super dope, but cayendo is pretty boring as well
|
| |
i thought they were both solid
we'll see how the OG non-remixed versions are
