Between The Buried And Me are really technically talented musicians, but they're great writers. Dragonforce are a good example of a band who can shred but can't write good/original music worth a damn. As far as the hate this band receives, no would on sputnik would give a damn about hating on them if they hadn't written Colors. When Alaska and The Silent Circus came out this band got hardly any attention. In those days they were the band I wish more people knew, now they're just everyone's favorite band to hate, but to discredit them because they can shred is complete bullshit, it's as if people are jealous. It's funny how non-technical some of the best and most original parts are they've written. Just saying.

I honestly have no idea why people hate on them the way they do, other than popularity. Learn how to play guitar or how to write music, then maybe you'll have room to talk because the difference between being able to play and write is huge, and it's annoying because this band can write, not just because they can play. But until then you really don't know anything musically other than listenablity.

It's probably because they haven't changed sound at all. It all sounds very dull after a while. Sure, it's top musicianship, but I can see why people don't like it.

Hell, even I'm getting tired of hearing the same thing. It doesn't mean people are jealous, jesus. lol

People sitting there going "damnnnnn, why aren't I THIS good!! I hate them!"

They've seemed tired since Colors because TGM was pretty Colors wannabee. Parallax I was good, but Future Sequence is great. I think their earlier work being TSC and Alaska were fantastic. This band has received alot of hate since and because of Colors is mostly what I'm saying. I can understand not liking the music but not even appreciating the music because of how talented they are technically as musicians is bullshit. I appreciate when this band is original for themselves because they have been alot, it sucks when they repeat themselves which they did on alot of TGM imo, it really got me uninteresting in em till this album came out where they made alot of new ground.
