First minute of it is gorgeous but the moment when the singing enters is painful and then the rest of the track is kind of all over the place.

If y'all like Holocene check Bathing Beach by Novo Amor yupyup

I checked it. It made me feel a bit unconfortable cause it was so blatant that he was trying to reproduce Holocene.

I like For Emma and 22 but this is by far my fav.

22 might be better than this tbh, definitely more interesting. If it weren't for Holocene this might be a 3.5

I mean it's different in a good way but idk if its more interesting than this.

See for me this is the most solid thing the dude has put out, like 90% of his reputation for me is based on this album. 'For Emma' is like another 7%, with 'Repave' sort or 2% and his other Bon Iver releases accounting for 1% of my respect.
I listened to the new S. Carey today and that sounded like a weaker version of this...but still good, if even WETTER than this if you thought it possible.

There are stripped back folk releases at least as good as 'For Emma' so that album has to coast on the mythology.
I listened to the Iron & Wine debut recently and that's a superior album to 'For Emma' straight off - and that's just one example. 'Carrie & Lowell' flays it alive to the point they shouldn't even be compared.
Yes, 'Skinny Love' and 'Re: Stacks' are great but to me they aren't a revelation and neither is that album.
One thing that cannot be argued - this self titled one has been supremely influential.

I'm pleased that you like the new S. Carey, was expecting you to say it's corny. Agree that it has similarities with this record, I find S. Carey's melodies and atmosphere more absorbing though.
