Apparently it's Carlos Santana and Alice Coltrane - Illuminations. I'd happily go with the genius comment though...

Man, just can't get into this as much as everybody else is. You're Dead on the other hand...

That's one of the tracks I like more off of this. I mean, this is a great record, but I don't see it as the magnum opus that everyone else seems to hold it up to be. I just like the busier, jazzier sound of You're Dead! more.

Do The Astral Plane is still a fucking jam tho

You're Dead was fire that's forsure. I'd been itchin for a really cool artistic video to accompany the flying lotus song "The Protest" and vimeo did a surprisingly good job here https://vimeo.com/109473558

also the song works surprisingly well with Jay Rock on top.

First saw Fly Lo in a room of about 40 people in 2008. Watching him now from 150 yards away is not the same for me. Last few times I just couldnt get into it live at all. Unfortunately Id become that asshole who 'enjoyed it when it was on a smaller scale'

This album was so different to LA. And his BBC experimental mix had literally changed my life. I lost my shit when this came out. Its still a great record.

I wasn't expecting this to sound like it did. After I heard You're Dead, I thought that the IDM tag was just used really loosely for FlyLo.
