Honestly, that's a totally valid take, especially if you're partial to their '80s sound. This took me a while to warm up to, but I love it now, and I prefer Cygnus to Xandu but they're both awesome.

So you’re not necessarily wrong. Xanadu is S tier, Cygnus is incredible, and Closer is beloved. The rest are mid for Rush standards imo but still amazing when compared to other music, hence the 5.

Went to nights 3 and 4 at madison square garden and the youtube videos don't even come close to capturing the epicness of the performances. This tour blows R40 away by a longshot and it's not even close. Highlights for me from the 2 nights were A Farewell To Kings, La Villa, and The Camera Eye believe it or not.



Alex's solo on La Villa (with Anika's buildup as well) was probably peak moment.



She's not a touring member. She's a full fledged member of the band. Only a matter of time before they make it official. Well earned young lady. Well earned.

Late 70's Rush is so iffy for me. Farewell to Kings and Hemispheres were pretty mid for me and Permanent Waves was a major step up but still lagging when compared to other greats like s/t, LyBy Night, and 2112.

I do think Farewell and Hemi are slightly overrated but they do have 2 of the bands very best songs. They are better than the other 70's albums you mentioned as well, despite each one's greatness. Personally, I prefer 80's Rush all day as a whole. But I'm a fanatic so I obviously love the 70's shit too.
