British Steel and Screaming are absolute classic albums. Outside of Sputnik both are considered the two greatest Priest albums outside of maybe Painkiller.

They're hardly their best efforts tbh. I feel their "majesty" went out the door after Hell Bent For Leather (save Painkiller which brought a new sense of majesty) although the albums are good.

Im a huge fan of the post BLayze albums, so you add those to the obvious classics and its pretty tough to beat Maiden. Priest has way more shitty albums.

Painkiller is a fucking beastly album. Maiden never got that intense despite the cheese factor. Sad Wings has far more character than most Maiden imo, and Stained Class is like the best non-Black Sabbath metal album ever.

I agree. Maiden have a more consistent career, and they made the legendary number of beast and powerslave, but Judas's highs are definitely higher.
