How many people don't see the humor in Morrissey's lyrics is beyond me.

This Night Has Opened My Eyes probably has my favorite The Smiths bass line.

That's a really good one too, as well as "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now". I've always felt like Andy Rourke was always underrated and overshadowed by Morrissey and Johnny Marr. Not to mention just how rhythmically tight Andy and Mike Joyce were.

Title track here is possibly one of my top 5 songs ever on any given day. Def top 10-15 in general either way though.

Bizarre how people take morrissey 100% seriously. Many of these lyrics are obviously sarcastic.

Moz was always a self righteous jerk. He just got old so it shows more.

I was talking with some guy that isn't on this website about the song 'Bigmouth Strikes Again'' and i said it's obvious Morrissey is making fun of the media and how people react to him in the song and commented on how funny I find the lines ''I've got no right to take my place with the human race'' and the lines about bludgeoning and such and he took the lines at face value and seemed to believe Morrissey was just some super serious angry guy.

He never came off as serious to me. He always reminded me of that kid in school who'd say fucked up shit just for a laugh or to get a rise outta people.

It really isn't hard to separate Mozz's recent media ramblings from his lyrical output or deduce the contrasting intentions behind them tbh

I respect him a lot because he is one of the few British famous people who said publicly that Malvinas belongs to us

I recently downloaded this album to listen for the first time. I really want to listen to all of it, but I always go right to I Know It's Over because it's so good. If the rest of the album is as good at that song, I see why it's so loved.
