Shellstar, In Blur, Mombasa, and Great Mass are tops.
Villain is lovely too, but the rest I've sort of forgotten about.

Everytime towards the end of In Blur and the screaming builds in the background i feel thats what i feel this album misses. I miss the screamz D:
But yeah that the problem for me too. Most if very nice sounding and ofc shoegazy but few songs sticks with me

More skramz would have been nice, but I am happy for what it is

I have absolutely no desire to come back to this, and I loved the first few listens. Pretty weird.

That's usually my experience with most albums haha. Jam for two weeks straight, get sick of them, retire them for a year then get back into them again

^ streaming has unfortunately made music this way for me as well. I accept it tho

eh i don't mind it, I like to keep listens rather fresh. it makes coming back to albums that much sweeter.

From time to time, I go back to my year highlights.
The ammount of listens we do per year though, make us inevitably let some listens fall. Brain and mostly time available can't keep up.
I don t know what kind of answer you re looking for cause we can t fit our 3.5s relistens and our 300 new listens per year in current basis.
I don t think the fact we don t go back to it as much we want to takes the value of the album. At a certain point you have so many rates that makes it impossible. Rate it below because of that is just unfair imo.

That dreamy build-up with the bass and then wall-of-sound outro of Lament for Wasps is a band highlight.

All of Mombasa is too. Idk why people seem to be under the impression that an album soaked in reverb=bad. Idk I loooove reverb. People are too hard on this.

I saw Deafheaven live at Furnace Fest a couple weeks back and they were still celebrating their 10 year anniversary and playing old stuff... what I am really excited for is to see them on their upcoming tour and hearing THIS. I really dig this sound and think it might even be better live because you know DAMN well he will be throwing in some more screams to these tracks live.

that's kind of the issue for me too. like this is absolutely good enough shoegaze to be jammed but why listen to this with everything else out there?

Yea i have no desire to return to this album.
i listened to some of it again today and it's nice but I keep wanting it to do other things and liven things up, get more power pop-y.

It will be interesting to see how their live setlists will become and how it will work mixing their New shoegaze stuff With their older blackgaze stuffz

Just saw them last night. They actually played Infinite Granite in it’s entirety. George actually had the pipes to sing this live. Crowd started to go apeshit at the end of Lament for Wasps lol. After that they played Honeycomb, Brought to the Water and Dream house.
