as a non-career musician for 20 years it doesn't take me long to wrap my head around technique, intentions, and structure so that's easy shit. some may fall into the background cuz I'm gymmin, workin, cookin, etc. but I am attentive.

yeah from 01-11 I didn’t have that much else going on other than school and college and a stint of being a broke musician so I probably racked up a lot of hours. gotta think about that opportunity cost now though. Mostly just listen during my commute or workouts now

legitimately not saying this as an attack to you personally, but framing things in terms of "opportunity cost" strikes me as such a depressingly capitalistic way of viewing one's free time and enjoyment of life... not to mention cultural enrichment from art

I’ve got a family to provide for now I’ve gotta think about it that way. Free time now is just time taken from something else that could better set up my son for the future. I mostly post here while walking between rooms at work, or while eating or catching a breather between workout sets, etc
