Considering Meshuggah is mostly a snorefest yeah I'd dare say Periphery is better. Even hotter take: It's Only Smiles is the best song on this.

Meshuggah is great, but they're also one trick ponies. It's a good trick, but c'mon.

Meshuggah bores me, mostly because it doesn't feel like the music is even remotely human half the time imo. It's Only Smiles is top 3 on here too m/

Meshuggah is pretty good, but I can't stand them for more than 40 minutes. I go back to them mostly because of Tomas Haake's drumming.

I'd say it's Reptile or A Garden in the Bones, but It's Only Smiles is up there too.

"can u imagine liking periphery more than meshuggah"

Yes. Meshugga is so boring. The fact that they're talented doesn't make their writing style any less dull.

Spencer's cleans > screams by a mile imo. His screams are solid at best. Enjoyable but compared to some of the better harsh vocalists out there he's really nothing special. His cleans are what make him special, imo.

Periphery is so much more interesting than meshuggah. Mesh’s vocalist is the most one-dimensional vocalist to ever scream into a microphone. Spencer can scream high, low, sing, whatever the fuck. Also ObZen is a repetitive chugfest (I still like it, but it’s true)

Meshuggah slander in a Periphery thread. Disgusting but not surprising.

Sorry deathschool, these opinions have always been here...just didn’t have a place to voice them without this abomination of a thread. At least I’m not the only one here saying meshuggah is kinda boring!

Kidman's robotic delivery is precisely why I don't like him much as a vocalist. At least Sotelo knows how to emote.
