Thankfully I didn't rly check out the singles much, besides speak with the dead which I've totally exhausted by this point but still love

Where the lightning strikes twice is so ridiculously dull. Wtf is that chorus? They couldn't have extended that or built it up to something? Crazy boring. 737, go down together, and bialystok are all great tho

Cold Blooded and SWTD hint at a direction that could have been incredible but most of everything else is so flat, particularly dislike At Least We Found The Floor which is just a shite version of Under The Table from the Smidley record
bit bummed really

i hate the vocal effect on his voice on bialystok, i was admittedly underwhelmed by the new album but i think i had the same response to Dealer so hoping it grows on me / releasing half the songs beforehand kinda sucked the life out of the first listen / though what they've said about future music has me hopeful (think they might be going in the 737 direction according to a recent interview)

There are indeed a couple of big duds that are way too noticeable. Where The Lightning Strikes could've turn into this climaxing pop/rock thing but it just goes nowhere. At Least We Found The Floor is just frustratingly bad and should've never made the final cut.
And some production issues here and there.
That said I actually like almost all the non-singles (fuck you At Least We Found The Floor).
Fun record nonetheless , but then again I seem to like a lot of the "average" records on this site

New one has a few little bops but I wasn't expecting an album akin to The Wombats lol

This page of comments is so discouraging :/ hype for this album has been completely lost for me.

Yeah At Least We Found the Floor is weak as hell. And I always thought Where the Lightning Strikes Twice was easily the worst single and it’s one of the worst songs on the album too. Everything else is great imo

Interesting Release Radar is pushing 'At Least We Found the Floor' to me this morning on my Friday update ... it typically pushes whatever non-single track is getting the best initial reception.

UPDATE: just started my listen and 737 is WILD. Reminds me of Microwave's 'Death is a Warm Blanket' which I highly encourage all of you to check out if you have not.

Most of the new album is so good. No bad songs imo, but the opener and closer are definitely the best. At Least We Found the Floor is a great acoustic track that helps the pacing overall, can’t believe anyone would have an issue with it

Yeah, I didn't really like At Least We Found the Floor, but didn't necessarily hate it like some of y'all let on. This new album as a whole works great. Obviously not a NMG, but sitting around a 3.75 level for me right now. Honestly I think this is more of a 4, but the awful rollout is clouding my judgement a bit.
This is MUCH more easily digestible than NMG.

I really don't mind an acoustic track in the middel of this all but the track itself is just not interesting to me.

Bialystok should've been a single tbh and maybe the t/t or Go Down Together along side it. And just stop there at two songs.

Maybe it's due to the somewhat letdown that their newest was (though admirable in its own right), but this is growing on me so much. damn.
