"http://opeth.com/ new song the Wilde Flowers posted."
First listen was cold but now I like it. Dare I say, really like it. Not sold on the production but I liked the structure. Cute chorus too

This is one of my favourite songs on the album. Was thinking at first that I would grow out of the intro and the ''ominous'' vocal lines, but actually I'm more fond of it now, after repeated listens.

I'm hoping the verses will grow on me, which annoyed me at first. After that it's amazing though

@Talons, I really like the verses now, tbh, and the chorus is very catchy. What is a good sign is that the element of surprise throughout the album.

The leak's production is fucked and there are some missing tracks I think, just wait for the album

Alright.
Btw the new song is good. It was meh in the beginning but got progressively better. Every song seems to be better in the second half. Kinda lame tbh.

Ok, I've given the new one a go, or the tracks from the new one I could get a hold of... and it is really dull and unenthusiastic. I'd prefer to listen to Bieber than it tbh

If the album ends up being what I think it'll be based on the tracks I've heard so far, it'll be getting a 3

Sorceress gets strangely glowing reviews on the sites I checked out.
I think they must listen to another album, so the leak is clearly just another classic Opeth joke!
Haha! *cries*

Rip I got was good quality. Production sounds really good. Album has a little of the one thing the last two records were missing, which is atmosphere. But if you don't like the last two records, there's not really any point in bothering.
I really like how varied this album is in its influences, though. Heritage is an awesome tribute to '70s prog, but it is a bit one note in that respect, I guess. Pale Communion had a bit more unique songwriting and incorporated some other elements, but Sorceress takes that even further. It's a really interesting combination of '60s psych, '70s prog, '70s and '80s hard rock, with some of their signature melodic sound worked in. Leads and solos are great. Vocal melodies are great. Drumming is ridiculous, as it has been. Technically speaking, I'd say it's a little more subdued than the last two, but the songwriting is really focused and varied. Plus, I like that they just kind of rock out in spots

Considering bumping it up tbh, such a good album. New Opeth is absolute jams for days too; really digging the current style.
