Deftones are an important band for me too, lots of nostalgia, seen them live four times, but...I never felt they dropped a classic or anything like that. If you put all their best 12 songs on one disc it'd be a 4.5-5 but they never got close to doing that themselves for me

I think the closest they came to that is this album, but again Doof this is like that conversation we had about Troublegum, it's a visceral part of me that takes control and 5s all these.

i like the rawness and emotions on their first two albums, and around the fur is an overall excellent album

I agree with Dewinged that era being 'the meat' so-to speak. That's the time period where I was really into Tones. This is their finest record, but my favorite will always be Fur. They got a little too dreamy on me afterwards. 'Adrenaline' was the first; loved that damned thing. Lots of Korn & Lots of Deftones in the 90's. Saw both of em' several times ha-ha.

i consider DE to be one of their "meatiest" records as well, the relative restart they had to do then might have had something to do with that
