I know why I don't really dig this as much as Below The Lights and what came before that.
The harsh vox are much flatter here, it's the same thing all the time and they're definitely less deep and raw then they used to be. Plus the cleans aren't really my thing and they're used a lot here.

I know, didn't really see this coming either.
I went chronologically, and loved almost everything all the way up to and including Below The Lights, but after that one suddenly I didn't enjoy them anymore. Could be the vox, and the music feels a little less inspired/urgent/convincing for some reason. Even though I know many people consider this the best phase of the band...

You should be glad im not negging this. It was shitty shit even on few drops of acid, making it even more of a bitter album. Calling this a black metal is a disgrace for such a genre. Power metal with progressive leanings suits this better.
