Dammit RVAHC!!!

Surprising rating. I don't like DT hardly at all, with the exception of this album which is one of a kind - desperately wish there was more in their career with this vibe.

Indeed, they never even got close to making anything like this it feels.

Just too damn cheesy for me, not my style of prog at all.

"Indeed, they never even got close to making anything like this it feels."
Doesn't help that Kevin Moore left the band only a year after this came out. Rudess finalized their transformation into wank prog.

can't say that I love Jordan either

Jordan is cool and his parts really cemented the feel of post-awake DT for me. KM's parts were always more interesting and emotional, tho.

Agreed. Personally, I like both. Moore is probably more emotional, but both are technically perfect. Saying this, I'm a huge fan of the work of Moore, even outside of Dream Theater. Necessarily, it comes to my mind his work with some of Fates Warning albums.

His voice is pretty grey, but it works in OSI and Chroma Key... if you're in a very specific mood lol

Lol.

I'm thinking about going to see them live, even if I'm not a fanboy. Time will tell if I take that plunge.
|
| |
I was pretty disappointed last time I saw them. They sounded so geriatric following animals as leaders lol

This album has been Pulling Me Under quite a bit. Genius hooks.
|
| |
It's possible that I won't like any DT album more than this one. And that's ok.
|
| |
This might remain as my fave DT album.
The hooks are too good.
Awake and Met. Pt 2 are solid too, but this has the most pull for me. So far.
