When I saw these guys live I was really underwhelmed. I've never found TDAGARIM to be classic status or anything but I do really enjoy it. I always liked the parts where Jesse gives his really emotional delivery, especially on tracks like Degausser.

But he was using 2 mics and one of them he used for his emotional yells and it was just filtered through a bunch of distortion, and he sort of yelled his vocals but it really didn't have the emotional impact that I thought it should - felt really phoned in to me.

Still a decent show, but Manchester Orchestra opened for them and I thought they were way better.

the band strikes me as a studio band tho, it's probably hard to recreate the emotions years after they originated

haven't heard em live, that was all a conjecture

"And yet loads of bands are capable of doing so"

maybe so, but just because some vocalists can recreate their emotions doesn't mean it's fair to denigrate another vocalist if he can't. people are all different, there's a kierkegaard quote that applies pretty well here

What is a poet? An unhappy man who hides deep anguish in his heart, but whose lips are so formed that when the sigh and cry pass through them, it sounds like lovely music.... And people flock around the poet and say: 'Sing again soon' - that is, 'May new sufferings torment your soul but your lips be fashioned as before, for the cry would only frighten us, but the music, that is blissful.

They were good when I saw them, but I've never been into live performances as much as other people are.

They just announced a ton of European dates. Maybe that means there's some US ones on the way soon after.....we can only hope..

I'm okay with no need work tbh.

It'll probably be bad, and if not, the anti-hype machines will get 'em.
