I think i'm not too fond on this post early 00's Neurosis, the constantly gloomy and melancholic style was a welcomed change on A Sun, but when you put emphasis on that sound for two or three albums in a row it becomes a turn off for me

It’s a good album and I do enjoy it. It’s just that ASTNS, for example, is a borderline classic to me and this doesn’t reach those lofty heights.

I will agree that ASTNS is basically perfect. There is absolutely nothing I would change about it, it's easily one of my top 10 all time fav albums. This is classic to me but yea probably like an actual comfy 4.8 personally
