This is a superb review & not just because I agree with the rating. I do find it amusing (if a little odd) that this is the default one considering it's at odds with the album's average.

"Although Appetite For Destruction may not be the single most overrated album among otherwise rational music fans, I would have to say that it deserves an honourable mention" - language like this is so silly. Trying to dress up your dislike of an album as an issue of rationality. It isn't.
Also, in terms of explaining this album's massive reputation. The guitar solo on 'Sweet Child...' is absolutely special. You don't hear guitar solos like that every day. It's up there with Pearl Jam's 'Alive' as one of the all-time greats.
