Na as I’ve stated before, I’m jealous of the uk culture where it’s expected that people if all walks of life go to the pub and chat. We really don’t have that here in Florida. Don’t get me wrong I go to bars all the time because it’s the best way to socialize imo. But no one’s getting into quasi intellectual conversations about things such as music. Mostly just about getting laid or socializing with your given friend group unless you are for example, a barnacled old alcoholic who just comes to drink and shoot shit which is really not my demographic

Most people who reference best summer in my circles really only know 360 and nothing else from the album, it’s just one of those phrases people have latched onto. Prime example of this is my coworker who goes “ugh I just love brat summer” and i go “yeah brats a great album what’s your favorite song?” and she goes “oh I only know the main one 360 and the one with Billie Eilish?”

I mean the fact that she got Billie to do a feature speaks volumes on the impact, but yeah I'm sure there are definitely people who latched onto the trend vs the album, especially casual listeners who listen to one song 500 times, but saying most people do not know about this album is wild. Even my mid 40s straight men coworkers have heard it.

i think this is the only album discussion thread i've seen where fans are fully tripping over themselves trying to convince everybody how popular it is

pretty natural reaction to naysayers trying to make themselves better by underplaying its wider significance
like, there's a ton of records I can't stand that have swept up huge acclaim and had measurable cultural impact, but I don't go around trying to convince people they suck because none of that happened

Ok rereading and that’s fair

I'd rather get shot than stabbed tbh. I guess it depends on exactly where on my body the shooting or stabbing occurs but if tossed into the roulette ultimately I'd hope for getting shot. Getting stabbed just seems awful.
