tts and this are similar quality imo, but would say this one has higher highs and lower lows.

The original TMBTE in terms of controversy here?

Did Bring Me The Horizon hijack the music industry or something on this one? In The Dark = Metalcore Ed Sheeran. Wonderful life = Metalcore Oasis. Ouch = Metalcore Craig David. Sugar, Honey Ice & Tea = Metalcore Steps. Why u gotta kick me when I'm down = Metalcore Bieber. Mother Tongue = Metalcore Avicii. Heavy Metal = Britney Spears. It works though.

Man, it's gonna be so interesting having all the information about this album eventually.
Seems like it was absolute development hell and I think there were rumors that Fish was threatening to hold some of the songs hostage? Seems so random to drop a 16 track album out of the blue after being nebulously announced forever ago, not that I'm complaining lmao
Die4U is meh, but absolutely loved Amen and Lost. Kool-Aid was decent

GF and I saw BMTH open for FOB, and they played Amen to open their setlist. Our jaws were on the god damn floor, it was so good

@odal
think the split was acrimonious?

My understanding of the split:
(and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong because I am not really a BMTH superfan who keeps a constant ear to the ground)
Fish basically wanted more recognition/higher splits. The band disagreed. Fish leaves to basically be a free agent and starts working with bands like Architects, possibly with high stipulations. A battle ensues for song rights and contract splits over the material that they recorded for all the remaining Post-Human stuff that held up the release of more material.
The grey area is in how much Fish was asking for and for how long this conflict has been happening since they dropped Post Human in 2020 and were rumored to be done with more Post Human stuff shortly after with the release of Die4U. It does seem like Fish was the engine driver for the band's stratospheric success, but the BMTH brand gave a place for those ideas to take root and I don't think the rest of the members are untalented or anything.

i think the conflict had to have been going on for a couple years at least
weren't they originally supposed to drop like 4 post human albums/eps over the course of like 18 months?
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.5
yeah, I'm not even sure what the plan is with Post Human anymore but originally it was supposed to be 4 EPs with distinct styles. Would love for someone to clear up if four entries is still the plan or if they just want to move on.
I think they did say after the first delay or so that they began to have so much material that they expanded the scope to at least one full album but that's the only update I can remember. It's been hard to keep up lol
