Damn dom, didn't you have this at a 2.5 originally?
The wax version of this that you own have anything to do with the bumped rating?

It's like you bought a sandwich from your local deli and then you come in one day and they've taken all the meat off the sandwich and it's just cheese bread and some condiment. You go eh this sucks I don't want it! And then people are like what's your problem man, open your mind bro

'but I am constantly told that I am an old man in a young person's body'
Me too dude, although this conflicts with the changing music taste thing outlined in this thread, because I've developed to liking a wide variety of harsh vox more recently, rather than mellowing.

A Fleeting Glance is the jam Dom, especially the last minute or so.

not one of my favorites here actually. don't care for chrysalis or strange brew either.
spring 1974 on the other hand is the best thing they've done in years

Chrysalis kinda sucks yeah.
Strange Brew I dig but I get why you don't dig so much, the transitions are kinda jarring in places.
Seventh Sojourn thoooo.

The bonus tracks are great. It was Mikael not giving a shit because it's not part of the actual album. Maybe they should go that way in the future

Wilde Flowers has a really sweet outro.
Will O' the Wisp rules yeah, reminds me of Harvest for some reason.

Will O' the Wisp has one of my favorite Akerfeldt solos. And considering his amazing guitar work over the years, that's saying something. Something about the way the smooth fretwork combines with the warm jazzy tone is just phenomenal, as well as just the amazing choice/placement of notes in general

He's a guitar god, agreed.

He's pretty much one of the most multi-talented people in music in general, I'd say. Much like Devin Townsend in that respect

Ironic cos they might be teaming up to form a project very soon ;]

Man, if we could get something that combined the incredible atmosphere of Ocean Machine/Terria-era Devy and the intricate progressive song structures of something like Still Life or Blackwater Park, that would be some next-level stuff

Both seem to have moved on from those sorta eras but yeah, it'd transcend the rating system hardddd.
