Oh I know it isnt pretentious. Funny thing is if a band uses a basic/radio friendly song writing formula they get bashed for being generic. But if a band makes unorthodox music with long instrumental solos they get bashed for being pretentious and self indulgent. It's a catch 22.

Most of the people who throw around labels like generic and pretentious are usually pretty damn pretentious themselves in one way or another. I might be too but idc, this album is sexual.

This review is pretty good, it seems like what any Tool cult fan like myself would say. I just wish the writer did more background of the songs instead of just saying things like when he describes "Hooker With a Penis", writing "It is about the 'man' assuming that Maynard is just something weak that can be pushed around, or a "woman'". I would look more into the background of the song to understand it. A lot more to it then that. Anyway, I like a few other reviews on here a lot more, but i do agree on the 5/5!
