it literally is an Antlers album though. like by objective definition

come on rowan, i thought it was pretty clear that i was speaking in the sense that because its so vastly different from all other antlers material and was the pseudonym for Peter when he was just doing some folksy guitar music.

I get that, and you can absolutely consider it a Peter solo album if you want, but saying no-one calls it an Antlers album is just plain wrong when the name the Antlers is on the cover of the album, y'know

By definition it is, but it sounds like a solo folk record and has literal to do with the actual band lol.
If anyone wants a fun spin jam this bands self titled. Pretty much one of the most underrated things ever
|

the self titled doesn't do anything for me

Album Rating: 4.1
I like the self-titled more than this album I think. The production sucks but Foreign Thoughts, We Were a Roman Candle and Off With Their Heads are like their best songs
|
| |
the yells on the self titled are sexy but thats all i got to say about it.
also we sleep through the bombs is nice

I don't even like this to the extent of a 4.5 anymore just cbf to bump it down. s/t is at least a hard 4 imo

So many incredible moments on the s/t, but this overall as a whole is much better.
The ending of off with their heads is 5/5

Album Rating: 5.0
guising / off with their heads has some of their best moments but yeah the debut is way too flawed to be even close to this in quality i think.

Album Rating: 5.0
Yeah s/t doesn't come close to this but it does give you a very warm, fuzzy feeling. Because, Because is nice too though it would've been better if they didn't mess up the climax on In Excelsis Deo.

That and We Sleep Through The Bombs are among their best. Damn I forgot how many good songs are on s/t.

Album Rating: 5.0
Yet it's got all these 2.5 ratings and under, the middle of that album as a whole is seriously impressive for their first collection of songs.

so stay close is the saddest song on the album imo. i love the subtle keys in the chorus, they give it so much atmosphere
