if we're talking about first halves that bother us, it's actually tuscan leather for me. the beat is just...annoying, sorta. it seems "epic" in theory but a little flat in reality. plus, if "furthest thing" is what i want from drake, that first half isn't. second is better

tbh the first minute--almost exactly!--of "over my dead body" is one of my favorite minutes, sections, whatever, of a song ever



i remember when this leaked and i started listening to that song and chantal's hook came in i genuinely freaked out. plus i like drake's rapping on it more than i used to, sorta silly but it works

yes, it seemed very awkward to me at first given the song's atmosphere, but it makes sense. it's so pretty and ethereal. i didn't think much of drake when i first heard this, and that song served as the perfect opener.
