The catalyst is fun but could have been so much better with a heavier guitar work and with more variety in the lyrical departament

This is their 2nd best behind The Hunting Party. HT and Meteora are massively overrated and formulaic imo but the nostalgia factor is admittedly super high.

Still think this album is criminally underrated. If it's not your thing then that's cool but I can remember when this album came out and the shitstorm of comments saying how they "sold out", which is ridiculous. If they wanted to sell out they would have just made Hybrid Theory over and over again. They deserve to be commended for completely changing their sound and being true to themselves rather than pandering to the millions of fans who want the "old LP". Maybe a couple of interludes could have been cut but apart from that the flow of the album is great and when The Catalyst comes in as the climax of the album it works.

Blackout, When They Come for Me and Robot Boy (swear to god I'm the only person who likes that song) are my faves. This album is all about building an atmosphere rather than 3 minute nu-metal songs.

Still think this album is criminally underrated. [2]

Cant agree with you more, I also dont get how this can be described as a selling out record when they didn't cater to their fan's wishes in any way.

Robot Boy is jam tbh. Whole album is jam beside The Messenger(that song is okay, but it just doesn't fit into the album, The Catalyst is the real closer for me)

I personally think this is the best LP album.

First time listening to this in forever. Now having become more familiar with sampling and making of beats in hip hop I just realized all the drums/percussion and bass on Wretches and Kings are made by an 808. Fuckin brilliant

It's an underrated album in general but people have slowly come to grips with it. More positive responses towards this recently
