The first song on this album is an absolutely perfect opener.

There was nothing wrong with the production on Focus. It's a death metal album that was made in 1993. What kind of production were you expecting?

That still doesn't change the fact that he doesn't like the production on the album. Justifying why it sounds like it does is irrelevant.

I know that. But there's really no reason to talk about the fact that it doesn't have "good production" because it should be expected with that kind of album. That being said, it doesn't even have bad production.

I understand the fact that the time and genre of music would take a toll on the production, however,

that doesn't mean it's not flat. I like Focus. Hell, I love it quite a bit, but the overall production

is still flat sounding, and that detracts from the quality of music.

I'm not saying an album needs to be glossy & compressed, as I dislike that typically. SIMPLY saying

the production on Focus wasn't all too spectacular and was my greatest draw back. And it's not that it

was 'bad' by any means at all. Everything is audible, the drums aren't clicky, the vocals are

prominent without squashing everything else. But, some dreary tone is resonating throughout that I

can''t pinpoint. Just... flat.

on the contrary, i believe it is this album that loses its quality to overly spectacular
production. focus is miles ahead of this

Sucks every time I say Veil of Maya rules, people think I'm talking about the shitty deathcore band. Then I have to sit them down and explain good music to them.

Hahaha, Wiki says they took it from the poem and that there is coincidentally a song by Cynic of the same name.
