Whaaaaa. The Lotus Eater and Hessian Peel are easily the best.

Lotus eater isn't bad, but it has that annoying piano bit, and hessian peel isn't bad either, its just not great.

Everything just feels pretty forced on this album, I hope the new one has a more natural flow.

None of the songs even have proper fucking endings, except Hex Omega.

what about Burden. The ending in that song is Opeth's most creative.

Porcelain Heart always makes me wanna /facepalm
The rest of the album is pretty good though

Yea sure its creative but it's not a complete ending

yeah it is. It's just classical guitars being down tuned.

dude yea, if it just faded out with the guitar being down tuned it would've been way better, but it ends with that laugh Mike does, its kinda stupid.

"Porcelain Heart always makes me wanna /facepalm"
My thoughts exactly. It's actually one of the only Opeth songs I truely dislike.

PH is so redundant, I do like that lullaby part in the middle of it though

I like that too, though a lot of people thought it was stupid. Devil's Orchard is going to be up for listening in 2 weeks or so.

Here's some info on the album that someone translated from a recent interview.
- "Heritage" is an instumental song, played by Joachim. It's a solo piano (like silhouette)
- "The Devil's Orchard" is the single of the album but, according to RockHard, it is not really formated for the radios...On the chorus, there is a very impressive passage where mike repeats "God is dead, God is dead, God is dead..."
- When mike starts to write the album, he composed 2 songs whith the "watershed style", but he deleted them and tried another direction with "The lines in my hand", wich is one of the most experimental track of the album.
- "Famine" featured Alex Acuna and Björn J:son Lindh with a very intense passage with flute + double bass
- "Marrow of the earth" is an instrumental song
- According to RockHard, the album is very complex, it's very difficult to know what is the song that you are listenning in the tracklist
- According to Mike, the guitars used for the album are mostly fender Start and telecaster (but you can see Lespaul and PRS 245 on photos)
- According to RockHard Heritage sounds very psychedelic and experimental, each song is different, but the whole album is still very dark.
- According to Mike, heritage is not "vintage", it is just not a "clinic and cold" metal album. Opeth didn't want to use digital effects, the want natural sound of each instrument.
