falling snow is the worst for sure, just doesn't fit in imo with that super upbeat tone

"Only real negative was my initial boredom during the last track, does it really need to be 18 minutes long?"
Yes, because it's the best track they have ever done.

The Mantle is slightly better by a close margin.

'Yes, because it's the best track they have ever done.'
It's good but feels like it could've easily been 12 minutes & not nearly 20. Although it's not quite Godspeed territory could've done with a trim.

I could see that. Just gotta give it a few more listens to really appreciate it.

'Not Unlike The Waves' is so ridiculously good, I'm in awe.

that's actually my least favourite track! still awesome though. for me the ending of Fire Above Ice Below is just the most otherworldly and cathartic sequence ever.

Only thing that irritates me slightly is the near 20 minute closer, it's great for a while though... album as a whole is close to perfection.

i've never really even thought it as a one 20-minute song, might be because in the tracklist it's split into three separate passages and you can easily differentiate them from each other
