Darko? Lol

yeah I was with ya until that haha
That band just feels like a less shitty Emmure with a few decent riffs but that’s just me
|

Why tf is Darko being brought into this? BMTH have never tried to nor claimed they wanted to reinvent anything.
You may as well bring up the Beatles and Mozart...
And I'm normally not one to do this, but how can you talk like that about this song when you 5'd Felony from Emmure?

everyone cashes in on nostalgia, especially those creatively out of juice. first hollywood, then the video games industry, now BMTH

"You may as well bring up the Beatles and Mozart..."
Are you telling us that you don't associate BMTH with 'Eine kleine Nachtmusik" (Serenade No. 13 in G major, K. 525)'?

"i'm meaning more like the critical adoration and that they can do no wrong. spirit, amo and post-human are far from perfect, or even good lol. i agree their first 4 hold up."
its a fine enough ep but the first post-human broke people's brains. they circled back to making something vaguely heavy and all the disparate fans picked up the previous 10+ yrs finally had something they could agree on. also pretty sure fantano gave it a high score which gave the rym bots a pass to like them

also i do think its kinda cool how excited all these kids who weren't even born in 2006 are for this redux. reminds me of being excited for death magnetic as a kid

Pit in here championing BMTH, if you told me that 10 years ago I would’ve cackled

What's even more ironic to me is how different my opinions on this band seem to be from the "masses". Or at least what I read. I loved their early dxc records which I feel like got widely panned at the time. Then everybody shit a brick over There is a Hell/Sempiternal, and I found those albums to be highly unremarkable with a few bangers. Then they flipped and went full pop and I thought they crushed it. Sans the lyrics TTS is fantastic imho. And now I'm happy they're going back to dxc in some small part.
Just feel like the stuff the vocal folks hate I actually enjoy and Vice Versa

I see a lot of similar takes from people I know that never cared about this band back when people were getting straight up alcohol poisoning to this album and SS back in the day lol, their reputation is something that should and probably already has been studied (by label exec's and the like, this is why I choose the street kid playthrough)
and yeah idk, not saying Dehumanized is bad or anything, I think it's a great little trend they're doing right now, returning to form and all, I'm all for that, I just think there's been more interesting stuff out there for a while now

I tuned out of the thread for a bit, but BMTH is getting the Zoomer glaze like Waking the Cadaver? That's pretty crazy because they don't have the trve cvlt status like WTC, at least in my mind. I suppose it's cool seeing though. Scene music definitely had a whole lot of energy which is an antidote to all the sleepytime indie music that the pandemic produced.
I will say though that growing up most of the scene kids I knew loved Count Your Blessings. Like this was probably one of the top five most played albums along with early Suicide Silence, JFAC, AILD and the usual suspects. I really dug it when I first heard it but it kinda lost the shine. Revisiting it now though and it's still pretty fun.

I could never look past how this sounded like it was recorded in a decompressed submarine
What I've heard of the rerecording slaaaps
Dehumanized goes hard too
Maybe I will finally be able to appreciate this album

Lol I'm not championing them at all. I find that the majority of their output ranges from mediocre and boring to just outright laughably bad.
This song is just fun, though.
