All I know is there are certain albums in my life where there has been a noticeable response from more than just normal fans. Eminem's Marshall Mathers LP is the biggest of my lifetime (31), but Devil and God is probably in second place. I fucking hated Brand New (still can't stand their previous work) and grudgingly acknowledged, almost immediately, that this was outstanding when it dropped. Me and everyone else. Its a fucking masterpiece, and one of the most important albums of the decade.

my dad is actually fascinated with this album. call me young and dumb or whatever but this album is pretty important to a lot of people no matter what age.

with that being said I did recently bump this down to a 4.5. I can recognize its faults
