For me, it was the Blood Mountain tour in 06, Capillarian and This Mortal Soil were absolutely live highlights of that era.

I saw them in 2009 in a fest in Japan and they were in top shape, banger after banger. They played at 13:00 some time in August and I had a sunstroke right after the show cause i fell asleep drunk on a beach nearby. Woke up, crawled to the sea and went home soaked from the inside out.
Good times.

they were quite fun when I saw them a few weeks ago. Even brought out a big goblin man to dance a little jig.

0Guy that sounds like a too-good-to-be-true modern setlist. I'm sad I missed it. Crack the Skye tour '09 was the first and best for me -- all of CtS, Bladecatcher, Birchmen, Wolf, Skull, Capillarian, Megalodon, Seabeast, Iron Tusk, Fire Ants.

I caught them on their tour with Opeth after The Hunter came out. Setlist sucked, performance sucked, haven't seen em since

I caught that show too, but Bill was out for some reason so they played as a three-piece. Otherwise nasty setlist yeah, only time I've heard Ghost of Karelia.

yeah i saw them when they were touring that album and yeah can’t say i was impressed in the least. no energy and no stage presence whatsoever.

I saw them earlier this month with Gojira and it was honestly one of the best shows I have ever seen. I hadn't really listened to Mastodon at all in the last decade but that rekindled my interest for sure.

Seem like they've caught a bit of a second wind as a band based off their last album and their recent shows

the making of for the last album made Brent look super, super chilled out. I can't specifically remember if he said he was sober, but he looked like he was very much at peace with himself.

Just got to see these guys last night with Gojira and Lorna Shore and they absolutely killed it! Always have dug their music but gained a new level of appreciation for them after that

I’m seeing them live for the first time next Thursday with Gojira. I’m so hyped, can’t wait. That setlist is a blast.

Should be sick, enjoy!
I saw these guys during their Once more round the sun tour, and they were pretty sick. Vocals were a bit off, but I feel like that's normal.

Yeah that’s been the flaw most people identify in their concerts, though they’ve improved a lot in that department compared to their early shows

it didn't matter in the early shows because they mostly shouted and growled their way through the first three albums, then they started singing on stage and it got ugly, then they actually learned how to sing and it's fine again

i didn’t find the vocals to be that bad live. i just thought they were boring.

Yeah, the singing sounds really good here. It's definitely fine again
Props to them, this is actually an insane improvement from when I saw them
