so they just made a pop album I guess. SWTD and the opener are pretty big feints for a totally different album than what followed. not sure how I feel yet lol

I think I'd be loving it if GDT and Believed in Love were the only singles and they left the rest a mystery. as is I'm just utterly baffled by this whole rollout and why they ever thought dropping SWTD first was a good idea
a lot of strange decisions all round, but the album's solid

there should be a legal cap of 2 singles per album tbh

We are all looking at you Rise Records AFI with your 7/11 tracks being singles

lol try being an Angels and Airwaves fan (there are dozens of us! dozens!) with a rollout which started in 2019, and 6/10 songs being out already
agreed though. streaming has destroyed the art of album rollout, it's a fuckin bummer

Yeah Speak With the Dead shouldn’t have been a single, especially since it’s a closer.
A whole album of poppy single type songs and then closing it with surprise track like that would’ve been incredible.

oof, thats a tough release. Lucky for me, I have not heard any of the A&A singles and am actually excited for the drop (clearly I am not one of the dozens of fans)
Not to bring them up, but ... the last incredible album drop I can think of was Brand New's Science Fiction where they dropped a couple misc. singles 1-2 years prior, started playing another song live and then surprise mailed the full album to random fans that included none of the singles or live song before just unleashing it to everyone.
An absolute rollercoaster to conclude a 7-8 year wait.

Science Fiction definitely won in that regard.
I remember getting home from work about to pass out and then I see "new brand new album" probably on this site and immediately thinking "oh finally, the hype begins!" only to realize mere moments later that it was already there for me.
unmatched happiness. i love a good hype train but that? that was special

for a band like Brand New maybe, Foxing isn’t popular enough to pull that imo.
Just should’ve put out Go Down Together and either Where the Lightning Strikes Twice or If I Believed in Love.

The opener off the album is such a prick tease, and then Go Down Together comes on and fucks me hard, apart from a couple of tracks the album is awesome.
