The kind of imaginery that this album uses, going from home to school (or the other way, i don't think he meant teachers), very simple lyrics, enigmatic sadness (in many songs), dreamy accent, all of it makes me think that the album was aimed at teenagers (the melancholic ones) the same way okc was aimed at corporations people.
Nothing wrong with that, I don't think teenage music has to mean bad. We listen to albums that try to describe what killers feel (In Absentia anyone?) so why not teenagers?
