I'd put Lovers right after Lucky You, but yeah definitely on the second half. I wouldn't put it near Battle Axe as they are kinda similar, and maybe that's why it was left out.

this dude on the deftones sub months ago did provide an alternate tracklist for the back half of s/t to include lovers and i think it flows pretty alright, Bloody Cape is an interesting closer, But Moana probably needs a better outro though:

gotta try lucky you into lovers i have it coming after bloody cape which works fine but that could be better. also have the end of moana cut directly into bloody cape which helps make it not feel as abrupt. bloody cape could make a cool closer too but imo deathblow into anniversary has always been the way to end this

this and snw are two sides of the same coin of peak deftones for me (snw peak dreamy and this peak heavy) but snw gets the slightest edge bc it has a way better track order and flow to it, plus they didnt cut one of the best songs like they did here

for some reason people thought it was a drop-off from WP and although I guess stylistically I understand why some would think of it as a regression rather than progression of their sound I obviously don't think that's a bad thing in and of itself
the album is also seen as somewhat disjointed which I tend to agree with, however most of the material here is peak deftones for sure. It's also their most emotional album together with snw, but whereas snw channels ethereal melancholy this just relays pure anguish

Idc, I enjoyed the textures of this more than WP. I really like the style of this album. The riffs are big but convey an emotion. There's some inner message about it too that's really interesting and keeps me coming back to it.
Best tracks are Good Morning Beautiful, Battle-axe, Bloody Cape, When Girls Telephone Boys, Lucky You, Anniversary of an Uninteresting Event, and Minerva tbh. I found Hexagram obnoxious however.
