I love that first one. I mean it's not like it's a brilliant line or anything but it's solid

the average on absurd though, do like 50% of people who listen to this genuinely think its ~ a flawless album?

"Might sound lame out of context, but it flows so well in the verse."

nah it's exactly the context that makes it awkward for me. it's like jesse's trying to be all decadent in that line but he's too self-aware to make it sound actually genuine

I guess I've always linked being genuine to being self-aware, idk.

yeah i mean they aren't generally contradicting each other or anything, that's just the best way i was able to explain why that line is rubbing me the wrong way

flawless? fuck no lmao. in fact I could see someone thinking it's bad, but I obviously don't think it's anywhere near bad

the production alone on this whole album makes it awesome. It's definitely not flawless because Jesse's voice is relatable yet p iffy, but what else is wrong with this lol

giving this a 2 is just as wtf (if not more) than giving it a 5

seriously though I never understood the argument that "xxx alone makes this a xxxxx at least"

like do you just not get that a) ratings are subjective and b) rating on artificial stuff like production is stupid? I just rate on enjoyment. If a movie from the 60's has great cinematography for it's time, but it's completely boring and hasn't aged well I won't give two shits, I'll 2 it.

but the production IS why I like the album..............................
and artificial are you fucking kidding? music is 90% production and if that's not what your listening for than why do you even bother? to hear a hipster being depressed???

ALA you give too many 2s, at least change them to 3s. your threshold for 2 is too low. what you call is a 2 is what most of us call 2.8

But even if you like the production(I mean I liked it ... didn't think it was anything spectacular or stand out) who cares if you don't like the singer, the songs, the lyrics...etc etc

"to hear a hipster being depressed???"

Yeah people kind of listen to music to hear others project emotions. crazy, i know.

Lyrics, melody, beat, energy, craft, something to say, channeled resonating to the bones.

Production doesn't play a part in any of that, you know the actual important stuff.
