As for the concept yea I've read it's a pretty scary experience. Just read the album booklet there's accounts of it. People literally have thoughts of suicide because of sleep paralysis.

I've only personally had it happen to me once, but the worst thing about sleep paralysis is the accompanying feeling of dread. I thought that there was some evil spirit in my room and have read accounts of people thinking that they were being possessed by the devil or demons etc.

Wow, it can get that bad? I remember when I used to have them about 3 years ago. The first time I had it, I had an interview the next day but I was just soooo messed up mentally that I missed it. It was the scariest thing I had ever experienced! It reached a point I actually accepted my fate that I was going to die. Is it true that is caused by stress? I remember that period was the most stressful period in my life. There has to be a correlation because I have read that somewhere.

No idea how it's caused really. But yea if you read through the booklet, it's really pretty heartbreaking to read since it's like chronic for some people.

I can say it was also pretty bad for me but after I actually realized that I would be okay it stopped being as scary! I used to experience it about 5 times a night. When I got out of it and started to fall asleep again, I would immediately slip into another episode. It was pretty bad! I guess my irregular sleeping patterns I had at the time didn't help matters either. They just stopped for me though.
