Let me be 100% clear that this isn't a bad album. It's pretty consistent and decent for what it is but this and especially Toxicity are both essentially just one-trick ponies. For Toxicity, how many times can you write a roughly three minute angry song with political lyrics and/or chugging guitar riffs and STILL expect me to be impressed every time? Certainly not 14.
For me, no song on this album really stands out as being particularly better than the others because there's very little versatility in the songwriting. It's not a bad album. Like I said, there are some good hooks and riffs and moments of eccentricity, and I like the rawness of it, but that's pretty much all it has to offer. Some of my favourite albums are my favourite albums because every track offers a unique and interesting take on the album's sound, with different themes, different moods, different styles, and they go above and beyond at what they do. This album doesn't really do that. It strives for essentially doing the same thing over and over. It would be unfair to give it anything less than a 3/5 since I do enjoy every track but I can't give it anything higher.
