@Jay: a P1 full re-recording would go hard, but even as is I can certainly see it being a fan favorite
@bubs: P3, 4, and Alpha are their peak to me, they all lean further into Spencer's emotional lyricism and vocal delivery than this does

4 is def their best. honestly a miracle this band was able to put out something that consistent and fully realized. could not believe they made me a fan

Yeah I was actually nervous about 4 because I thought they were gonna do away with some of the stuff I liked from them (due to dropping from Sumerian) but 4 was immaculate.

lmao I actually can agree with that to some extent, Atropos is a must listen whenever it comes on though

@Calc I was at the show too. No reflection on the band but our group (4 of us) were all disappointed with the sound, it was just so muddy and lacked any punch. We tried moving from the left to the centre and it still sounded like dogshit (like that opening band)

I used to be more into Heavy Heart a couple years ago but think it's just too poppy now for my taste

i started working on a top 100 albums of all time list and it made me realize i actually prefer p2 to jugg.
i almost never listen to the band's albums front to back though and jugg has a lot of tracks that don't really work outside album context. may need to give it a relisten.

How do u people honestly like this band??? I do not get it.

For a lot of people it's the instrumentals and not Spencer, which is fair, they're really good at their craft and I doubt you'd be able to play their riffs tbh, but for me it came from hearing Spencer's takes on From First to Last and finally giving them a second chance after not liking my first spin of Make Total Destroy. Still nowhere near my favorite song of theirs.

Hawks I honestly have no idea how you can like Memphis May Fire and not Periphery, MMF was my stepping stone to liking Periphery, it has similar vocals Periphery is just more djenty

Spencer is the best part of the band seriously, dude is a vocal powerhouse (Matt being second).
P4 easily their best but their other albums still slap (damn y'all are too mean on P3) and there's so many fantastic songs.
Top 5 songs urrrrrr Everything is Fine, Reptile, Froggin' Bullfish, Dracul Gras, and Lune (The Way News Goes is veryyyy close but Lune is something else).

i have a weird bit of 3 nostalgia since it was my first record in the style ever but every time i throw it on its like the songs are doing everything in their power to turn me off lol. half of it is like a solid ep (albeit one where everything i like theyve done better before) but the other half of it is actually, fully terrible to me. flatline is cool tho
p1 is def my second favorite these days. near bangers back to front, even if im in the mood for racecar only like half the time lmao

first two songs, news, line stepper, catch fire, tbh i dont ever need to listen to marigold again either
remain indoors is like almost good but it is way too long and uses all its good ideas up too early
