online music discourse is a singularly joyless crock of shite unless you're dipping into it relative to your taste and not the other way round
take a week (or longer), go off-piste and find a way of scouting stuff without consulting rym or any similar site (bandcamp, yt trawling, related lastfm artists, whatever), and do not go back to them until you know where you stand with whatever you've found. carry on defining yourself against buzzquotes and rym algorithms, and you can have fun spending the rest of your life apologising for other people's bullshit you didn't have the good sense to ignore

Some people are going to dislike music you like and vice versa. If you come to a music discussion forum it is likely these disagreements will be voiced. Fwiw I don’t see anyone acting toxic in the rym discussion for Parannoul and you have a history of conflating people disagreeing with you with people trying to attack you and that is not a recipe for either you to enjoy music as a passion or to form meaningful relationships and community with people based on that enjoyment

last i checked there was some bozo saying people were "pretending parannoul is a genius", I was not the biggest fan of his music prior (brickwall production is a hit or miss quality in my eyes) but the huremic album had me in tears on listen 1. i think once it drops from #1 the discourse will hopefully chill out tho

ehhhh despite my hangups, they also put me on Jane Remover and other artists I may not have found without the community so I'm okay with occasionally being frustrated when I don't feel it with something. with any community you have to take the good with the bad and they balance out alright enough
