This record does remind me most of Periphery II in the backhalf though, some of the melodies sound so much like they belong on PII. I still prefer PIII over this one though

I usually dont mind their poppy stuff (scarlet and mile zero are fantastic) but Smiles just comes off as trite and cheesy to me. especially with the background "woahhhh-ahh-ohhh"s

the album is still way too long / song lengths go on way past when they should end, the vocals are still unbearable, they still sound exactly the same after almost a decade, they still sound like they're parodying genres

woah let's be clear here, the screams are fantastic. 10x better than they were on the debut. but yeah if you don't like his cleans then they're certainly no better here
