Never any love for Les Voyages. Better than Ecailles imo.

Voyages' first two tracks are some of the most serene and profoundly beautiful songs Neige has ever done, but the whole album is far from Ecallies quality.

I was talking to an osdm guy and was hesitant to bring this up as my favourite from recent years, but 'YES! I LOVE THAT ALBUM'.

I was close to tears.

I've heard a lot of music with this guy and the furthest I ever heard him stray from death metal was Down.

I discovered this band in 2009 under the genre tag “post metal” ... that’s funny.

I also discovered them around that time by association with post metal. By definition I don't really feel like its that much of a stretch, but we tend to think CoL / Isis when we say post metal and this certainly aint that.

This is primarily a shoegazing band at heart if we gotta classify but most of the time this band is just so their own thing.

This album does utilise a lot of post-metal tones tho

Blackgaze sounds silly but it's a good descriptor because it includes post-rock, along with black metal and shoegazing. I hear just as much post-rock elements in Alcest as I do shoegazing.
