I'm waa-waa-waa'ing in the background for you.

there is a wild amount of unironically judging an album by the cover art in this thread
when you could be judging the album by a single that sounds like an AI listened to 2000s modest mouse and generated a song from that
|
| |
i unironically love the single instrumentally but it's such a lyrical clunker

that cover is godawful
if I recall correctly Isaac said the follow up would be a sister record to Strangers
I just can't believe it's been 6 fucking years

Single is over-produced, car commercial shit.
Very cool.

I’m personally looking forward to it, been itching for a new MM album. And while Strangers doesn’t hold a candle to their earlier albums, I still think it’s a solid 3.5...also like We Were Dead. My least fav is Good News, but it has some great songs on it.

| |
i am also a Good News/We Were Dead defender and even I think the new single is worryingly trite

Hopefully the new album at least has a Spitting Venom on it.

when the second half of lounge comes on it's just such a mood i also like how he reprises the line from heart cooks brain ''i'm on my way to god don't know''
it's closing time, cloooosin'. that part is just indescribable it sounds so it sounds like so northwest usa to me, i can't explain, i know the band are from their of course but the mood is just like, it couldnt have come from somewhere else.
there's also a youthful college aged charm to it all which makes me think of my own times at college.
