Don't understand the CTS comparisons to Sultan's Curse, just sounds like a decent metal track, whereas CTS is full of genius psychedelic prog metal. Am pretty worried about this new album being too normal and bland, but they might just be releasing the poppier songs first.

Yeah I think the days where Mastodon would change their sound pretty notably from album to album are done. Pretty much any song from their last couple releases could've been on anything post- cts

Yeah that's what I thought, but jw why pedro is being used again now after so long. Just one of the most common accounts I saw all the time when I was first discussing and getting into post/prog metal bands.

yeah the new single isn't good. Brann's vocals are catchy but the lyrics are lame, and troy sounds really terrible, not to mention the instrumentals being boring and straightforward.
