Tyranny is absolutely mindblowing! The way it ominously builds into it's dm sections is perfection.

everybody says psalms better

both very close, i just love specific songs on bdh better even if stylistically nekro was more admirable

Nekro is better imo and my favorite modern dm release.

Adr, I disagree, this is great but I wouldn't put it up there with some of the earlier classics. Totally different sound.

these guys have my vote for best modern DM band, whatever the cutoff may be (founded post-2000?)

eh i guess, or maybe a band that began their activity in the mid 2000's

these dudes probs the best modern dm band around. But, I wasnt too big on vermis i thought it was solid but a bit hit and miss and not representative of how good they can be at writing songs. if obliteration's follow up to bdh is even close to salms or bdh, they will have to take the crown

Vermis is second best after this though.

Destroyers is my favorite because of the drums. Jamie spends more time creating complex and gorgeous cymbal and tom patterns than just hammering away at the snare, bless his single-hand-rolling soul
