cannot get enough of this record. goes from adventurous to intimate to soulful to head-bumping at the drop of a hat and damn fluidly. the chord progressions and song structure on the first three tracks are so unexpected but so seamless. and his voice, fuckkkkk
he really captured something special with this album

Lilac Wine is soppy bullshit and I vibe it big time. Eternal Life ain't bad or anything, but it feels a little contrived and doesn't have remotely the same level of atmosphere as anything else here.
I'm also not a fan of Corpus Christi Carol, but that's not one I'd pick bones over tbh

Eternal Life is definitely the worst here, but only because it doesn’t quite fit with the other material on the album. As an individual song, it still rules (especially the alternate version which is even more aggressive)
